Open University PT502 (Hektor)
HEKTOR, or the PT502, from 1982 was a substantial upgrade to the previous computer trainer offering from the OU, the PT501. It sported an 8085 CPU and BASIC in ROM as well as a monitor to let you explore its internals one RAM dump at a time. There was also an expansion connector to allow a lights'n'switches (PT222) experimentation board to be connected.
The cassette recorder was a Currys own brand, and standard for tape players of the day with MIC and EAR 3.5mm jacks as well as a 5-pin DIN socket for full control. Best thing though was the power supply, purely because it exposed the possibility of FIVE AMPS to the unsuspecting user who put their tongue across it. (It's supposed to have a plastic cover, but still!)
Also, the switch for the spacebar has disintegrated so that will have to be fixed at some point.
